Aboard Holland America Line's ms Veendam
May 16-23, 2010
Dear Albright Travelers:
Holland America Line has notified us that the ms Veendam sailing to Bermuda will not dock in St. George’s. Instead, the ship will anchor outside of the harbor, and all passengers will tender to the historic, UNESCO-recognized town. In a written statement, Holland America says the change was made “due to challenges with the narrow entrance to St. George’s Harbor.”
The ship will still dock in downtown Hamilton, Bermuda’s capital, for two nights on each sailing, as planned. However, during the one-night visit each week in St. George’s, passengers will tender on local ferries that carry 700 guests. The tender process will be very efficient as well as handicap accessible. The tender will run on a regular schedule and the ferry trip will be approximately 45 minutes of absolutely breathtaking beauty!
Holland America has made the necessary changes and preparations so their passengers will not be inconvenienced in any way and will still be able to enjoy and experience the beauty and rich history of St. George’s.
